The “Expected Value of Lives Saved” is our best estimate of the theoretical number of lives that might be saved based on the number of people who are visiting this site.
SuperIntelligence.com is dedicated to reducing the probability of human extinction, known as p(doom), by advanced SuperIntelligent AI.
The best way to reduce p(doom) is to design SuperIntelligence to be safe and aligned with human values. However, since the world is engaged in an AI arms race, we must also increase the probability that the safest SuperIntelligence is the first developed, something we call p(zoom). SuperIntelligence.com’s designs for AI safety are unique in that they represent both the safest AND fastest path to SuperIntelligence.
Simply put, the goal is to reduce p(doom) and increase p(zoom).
This goal is accomplished in three ways:

Increasing awareness of the existential threat that advanced AI poses.

Inventing designs for safe SuperIntelligence and AGI that reduce this threat and making these designs and inventions freely available to all who promise to use them safely.

Consulting with leading technology companies and governments to implement designs and inventions.
Dr. Craig A. Kaplan is the inventor of the designs and technology that enable safe SuperIntelligence. A leading expert in intelligent systems design, Kaplan has worked with AI for four decades and co-authored research with luminaries in the field, including the Nobel Laureate and Turing Award winner, Dr. Herbert A. Simon.
Since 1993, Kaplan has run iQ Company, a consulting firm specializing in designing intelligent systems. Kaplan’s intelligent systems have solved challenging problems, such as powering a top-10 performance on Wall Street, where his systems powered billions of dollars of stock trades and outperformed many of the most intelligent human minds on our planet. In 2022, Kaplan developed iQ Studios, a video production company focused on raising public awareness of AI, AI safety, AGI, and Safe Superintelligence.
In 2020, concerned that AI researchers lacked safe designs for advanced AI, iQ Company focused exclusively on inventing new designs for safe AGI and SuperIntelligence. By 2023, iQ Company had invented dozens of patent-pending technologies that work together to maximize AI safety and reduce p(doom). Recognizing that humanity has a limited time window for adopting safe designs, iQ Company made its inventions and designs freely available on this website, which it has owned since 2006.
iQ Company has developed a series of educational videos to raise awareness of AI safety issues and is working to build open-source prototypes of technologies to enable safer SuperIntelligence. Many activities have been funded pro bono, and we welcome donations and sponsors that can help us increase the scope of work to reduce p(doom) and increase p(boon). iQ Company also offers fee-based implementation consulting to leading technology companies and governments as another funding source for our AI safety efforts.
Kaplan speaks widely at AI conferences to promote AI safety. He is a frequent podcast guest and welcomes speaking or interview opportunities to raise awareness of AI safety concerns and potential solutions.
